270 teams Bryan-College Station
|

The 32nd Annual Budweiser Softball Festival
attracted 270 teams to Bryan-College Station on May 5-7 weekend. The weather was
perfect all weekend and teams had a great time. In Men's B/C, AMPM/GVMS/24-7
Southball/TI Sports (Houston) won First place and C.P.S./DRM/ASP (La Porte) came
in Second. In Men's D, Whut It Dew (Austin) was the Champion and Smash/913
Sports (Austin) was the Runnerup. In Men's E, SA Sox (San Antonio) took the
Crown by beating Skull Gang (Austin) in the Championship game. In Men's 35 &
Over, Frank's Country Store took the title while Bulls/PapaJohn's/JCC
(Rosenberg) was Runnerup. In Mixed B/C, Coed Correction won First place and
DGKoed (Houston) took Second. In Mixed D/E, Slaughter Swamp (Chester) was
Champion and Relapse (Stamford) was Runnerup. In Women's B/C, Smash It Sports
(Lorton, Va.) won First place, while Lady Oops (Carrollton) came in Second. In
Women's D/E, Suicide Squad (Yoakum) was the Champion and Hate This (Cypress) was
the Runnerup.

 The 11th Annual Space City Classic
came down to the wire with double-dippings in both Major divisions. The
event eas held April 5-7 at Big League Dreams in League City and Houston
Sportsplex. In the Conference USSSA Men's Major bracket, Racks/Sonnys/Easton
(Casper, WY) came from the loser's bracket to defeat Nightmare/Miken
(Branson, MO). Steel/PHS (Corpus Christi) came in 3rd Place and Baugh
Ford (Peachtree City, GA) finished 4th. In the Women's Major N.I.T.
Bryant Express (Bryant, AR) pulled off a huge upset by coming out of the
loser's bracket to double-dip the seemingly invincible Derby Girls
(Kent, WA). Smash It Smorts (Lorton, VA) finished 3rd while Enough Said
(Tallahassee, FL) came in 4th. In the Men's E N.I.T., PLP (League City)
was the Champion and Pound It (League City) was Runnerup. In the Men's D
Consolation bracket, Habit (Pasadena) took 1st Place and Panhandle
Dynasty (Pensacola, FL) finished 2nd.

The Louisville Slugger Warriors
Classic was held March 25-26 at Big League Dreams in League City. The
Louisville Slugger Warriors (formerly Wounded Warriors) played an
exhibition game on Friday night, then participated in the tournament on
the weekend. In Men's Open, two Conference USSSA teams took top honors,
with Steel (Corpus Christi) in 1st Place and Nightmare (Branson, MO) in
2nd. In Men's C, AMPM/24-7 Softball (Houston) was the Champion whiel D12
(League City) was Runnerup. In Men's D, Live Action (Pasadena) took 1st
Place and TI Sports (Houston) came in 2nd. In Men's E, PLP (League City)
won the Championship by beating Manac USA (Houston) in the finals. In
Women's, Lady Top Dog (Beaumont) was the Champion and Suicide Squad/Team
Tayden (Houston) was Runnerup. The next big tournament in South Texas
will be the 32nd Budweiser Softball Festival on May 6-7 in Bryan-College

The Kyle Pearson Shootout was held
February 25-26 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield, Texas. The 2016 USSSA
Men's Major World Series MVP Kyle Pearson was in attendance for the
tournament. In Men's Open, Brian's Custom Detailing (Grand Prairie) won
1st Place while HVAC/Soldados (Ft. Worth) came in 2nd Place. In Men's D,
the Lackland Warhawks (San Antonio) were Champions and the Titans (D-FW)
were Runnerups. In Men's E, RCC/Tx Tuff (Mansfield) took the
Championship game by defeating Traviesos/PPV (Ft. Worth). In Mixed, Coed
Connection (San Antonio) captured 1st Place. In Women's, Smash It Sports
(Lorton, Virginia) was the Champion and Famous Freaks/Powerhouse Sportz
(Denton) was the Runnerup. The next big tournament in North Texas will

Classic was held February 4-5 at Big League Dreams in League City. In
Men's B/C, 1st Place went to D12 (League City) and 2nd Place went to
Texas Threat (Houston). In Men's D, the Champion was TI Sports (Houston)
while the Runnerup was Habit (Pasadena). In Men's E, PLP (League City)
won the Championship game over Scrubs (Angleton). In Mixed, 1st Place
was DiamondBacks (Brenham) and 2nd Place was Scoregasms (Lumberton). In
Women's, Suicide Squad (Houston) was the Champion while Lady Ego/KV Weld
(Pearland) was the Runnerup. The next big tournament in Houston will be

League Dreams in Mansfield. Some games were also played at Softball
World in Euless and Virginia Weaver Park in Cedar Hill. In Men's Open,
Swing Away (D-FW) was the Champion and Money/Miken/ASP (Conroe) was
Runnerup. In Men's C, Brian's Custom Detailing (Grand Prairie) won 1st
Place and Legendz Sports/UR (Broken Arrow, Okla.) finished 2nd. In Men's
D, Smash/Powerhouse Sportz (Austin) won the Championship Game over
Wrecking Krew (Colorado Springs, Colorado). In Mixed A/B/C, Coed
Connection (San Antonio) was the Champion and Powerhouse Sportz Coed
(San Antonio) was the Runnerup. In Mixed D/E, 1st Place went to xXx

The South Texas USSSA Winter Worlds were held January 14-15 at Big
League Dreams in League City, Houston Sportsplex and Wayne Gray Complex
in Baytown. In the elite Men's Open division, Allout/Klutch/Worth
(Houston) topped Money/Miken/ASP (Conroe) in the championship battle
between two Conference USSSA teams. In Men's C, AMPM/24-7 Softball
(Houston) won 1st place, while MVP Sports (Houston) finished 2nd. In
Men's D, 409ers (LaMarque) were the Champions and Habit (Pasadena) was
Runnerup. In Men's E, Smoking Aces Reloaded (Galveston) took the crown
by beating Desmadre (San Antonio) in the Championship. In Mixed,
TooLiveCrew (Houston) won 1st place, and U2/Get Off My Hands (LaFeria)
took 2nd. In Women's, Hott Mess Softball (Corpus Christi) was the
Champion and Lady Ego/KV Weld (Pearland) was Runnerup. The next big

The true State Champions of Texas Softball were crowned at the Lone Star
Shootout "Battle For The Rings" on July 16-17 and July 23-24 at Big
League Dreams in Mansfield. In Men's C, 1st Place went to Call Your Shot
(Round Rock) and 2nd Place went to WPS/Play The Game Sports (Oklahoma
City, OK). In Men's D, Oilers/Allstate/Mojo (Beaumont) were Champions
while Crush City (Houston) was Runnerup. In Men's E, Scared Hitless
(Pearland) won 1st Place and Str8 Clownin'/Michelob Ultra took 2nd
Place. In Men's 40 & Over, the Champion was Quick Roofing (Burleson)
while the Runnerup was Vivid (Frisco). In Mixed, 1st Place went to Coed
Connection (San Antonio) and 2nd Place went to DC/TooLive/ASP South
(Houston). In Women's B/C, Lady Top Dog/Easton was the Champion while
Texas Sports/Mizuno (Spring) was the Runnerup. In Women's D, 1st Place

The Lone Star Shootout Series North Texas State Finals were played June 25 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield. In Men's C, the champions were Jokers/F.T.P. (Ft. Worth) and runnerups were Player Haters (Dallas). In Men's D, 1st Place went to TXR-Mac-Construction (Stephenville) while 2nd Place went to Conference (Lubbock). In Men's E, Vatos Locos (Ft. Worth) took the title by defeating Boondock Saints (Nocona) in the finals. In Mixed, Coed Connection (San Antonio) was the Champions and Woodtoters (Tyler) were runnerups. In Mixed, 1st Place went to The B Team (Arlington) while 2nd Place went to Famous Freaks (Sanger). The next big tournament will be the Grand Championship of Texas Softball - the Lone Star Shootout "Battle For The Rings" on July 16-17 and July 23-24 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield.

Like cattle stampeding through the
nearby Fort Worth Stockyards, over 90 softball teams stormed into Big
League Dreams in Mansfield on June 4-5 for the Stockyards Shootout. In
Men's C, the Champions were Jokers/DTP Empire (Ft. Worth) and the
Runnerups were Brian's Custom Detailing (Grand Prairie). In Men's D, Air
Performance Service (Rockwall) took 1st Place, while Diamond Sports
(Arlington) came in 2nd. In Men's E, Meineke/#knowyourbody (Arlington)
took the Title by knocking off WTX Originals (Abilene) in the
Championship game. In Women's, Famous Freaks/X-R5/Diamond Sports were
the Champions, and Lady Assassins/SIS (West Monroe, La.) were Runnerups.
In Mixed, Co-ed Connection won 1st Place, while NTX Rough Ryders (Ft.
Worth) came in 2nd. The next big tournament in North Texas will be the
Lone Star North Texas State Finals on June 25-26 at Big League Dreams in

Mayfest was held May 14-15 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield.
Out-of-state teams took top honors in Men's C, with WPS/Play The Game
Sports (Oklahoma City) taking 1st Place and LOB/Lasting Impressions
Landscape (Shreveport, La.) finishing in 2nd Place. In Men's D, Twisted
Diamonds (Arlington) were the Champions, while Old Skool (Ft. Worth) was
Runnerup. In Men's E, Vatos Locos (Ft. Worth) took the title by
defeating 3XS/Medina Contractors (Waxahachie) in the Championship game.
IN the Mixed bracket, Smoke/SOS (Midlothian) won 1st Place and NTX
Replacements (Van Alstyne) came in 2nd. In Women's, Famous
Freaks/X-R5/ASP (Sanger) was the Champion and VooDoo Dolls (Ft. Worth)
were Runnerups. The next big tournament in North Texas will be the
Stockyards Shootout on June 4-5 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield.

The 31st Annual Budweiser Softball
Festival was held April 30-May in Bryan-College Station. Mother Nature
gave the 275 teams entered a scare with heavy rain overnight on Friday,
but the grounds crews from Bryan and College Station did an exemplary
job getting the fields ready for play. In Men's C, BTX/Dirty Vegas
(Beaumont) pulled a shocker by winning 1st Place, while the Rosenberg
Bulls (Rosenberg) took 2nd Place. In Men's D, Advocare/Proway Exteriors
(Houston) was the Champion, and Maniacs/Most Hated (Houston) were
Runnerups. In Men's E, Live Action (Pasadena) won 1st Place, and Scared
Hitless (Pearland) finished 2nd. There was a Men's 35 & Over bracket and
the Smurfs (Temple) were Champions, and Frank's Country Store/GSG
(Bryan) were Runnerups. In Mixed B/C, DGKoed (Houston) took the Title by
beating STX Takeover (Dickinson) in the Championship Game. In Mixed D/E,
Hustle (Galveston) won 1st Place, and Yatzy (Bryan) finished 2nd. In
Women's B/C, Lady Top Dog/Easton (Beaumont) was the Champion, while Lady
Oops (Houston) were Runnerups. In Women's D/E, the South Texas Outlaws
(Yoakum) took 1st Place, and Texas Queens (Dallas) came in 2nd.

Teams from outside of Texas traveled
to the North Texas Budweiser Festival on April 23-24 at Big League
Dreams in Mansfield and made a big impression on the Lone Star State. In
Men's C, the top two finishers were from Oklahoma, as the Seminoles
(Tulsa, Okla.) won 1st Place and Attaboys (Edmond, Okla.) came in 2nd.
In Men's D, TXR (Stephenville) was the Champion while The Berded
Builders Militia (Shreveport, La.) was the Runnerup. In Men's E,
Prestige Worldwide (Beebe, Ark.) made the trip to Texas and took 1st
Place and Texas vendetta (Grand Priairie) came in 2nd. Arkansas won
another title in the Women's bracket, as Bryant Express (Bryant, Ark.)
double-dipped The B Team (Arlington) in the Championship. In the Mixed
division, Co-Connection (San Antonio) was the Champion and Super Bad
(Oklahoma City, Okla.) was the Runnerup. The next big tournament in
North Texas will be the Meineke Mansfield Mayfest on May 14-15 at Big
League Dreams in Mansfield.

The Grand Slam Of San Antonio Leg III
was played March 12-13 at Alva Jo Fischer Park, Kennedy Park and Victory
Park in San Antonio. In the Men's C/D division, the Money City Mallards
(Austin) were Champions, and 44 OYBA/KD Logo was Runnerup. In Men's E,
the Masters (Uvalde) took 1st Place, while Latin Breed (D'Hanis)
finished 2nd. In the Co-ed bracket, Come Correct Coed (San Antonio) won
the Crown, and SOA finished behind them. In the Women's bracket, Rub and
Tug BBQ (Austin) was the Champion, while Lackland Lady Warhawks were
Runnerups. The next big tournament in South Texas is the Grand Slam Of
San Antonio Leg IV on April 2-3.

Sports (Stephenville) was the Champion, while Diamond Sports (Arlington)
was the Runnerup. In Men's E, Live Action (Pasadena) made the trip up
from Houston and took 1st place, and The Martians (Ft. Worth) finished
2nd. In the Mixed bracket, Coed Connection (San Antonio) won the

The B.J. Fulk Shootout was held
February 20 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield, Tx. In the Men's Open
N.I.T., Conference USSSA team Nightmare/Miken (Branson, Missouri) won
1st, but not before losing their first game to the runnerup Jokers/F.T.P.
(Ft. Worth) then haing to come all the way back and narrowly beat them
twice in the championship. In Men's D, Air Performance Service
(Rockwall) won First Place, and Dallas Bolas/FTP (Oak Cliff) came in
Second. In Men's E, Vatos Locos (Ft. Worth) was the Champion, while
Oklahoma Reapers (Tulsa, OK) were Runnerups. In Mixed, Coed Connection
(San Antonio) claimed 1st Place, and Triple Threat (Harker Heights)
finished 2nd. The next big tournament in North Texas will be Brett

Place, while scrappy OuttaControl/Golden Chick/Platinum (San Antonio)
took Second Place. In Men's D, Oilers/Allstate (Beaumont) was the
Champion, and Baseball Washouts (Houston) was Runnerup. In Men's E, 3
Plz (LaMarque) took the Gold Medal, and K.O.D. (Houston) took the
Silver. In Mixed, Too Live Crew (Houston) won First Place, while STX

(Beaumont) won First Place, while Whut It Dew (Austin) took Second

the Champion, and C.P.S. (Houston) was Runnerup. In Men's E, Classic
Elite (Houston) took the Title, and 3rd Coast Warriors (Lake Jackson)
finished Second. In Mixed, DiamondBacks (Houston) were the Champions,
while STX Takeover (Dickinson) was Runnerup. In Women's, Killer B's
(Baytown) took home First Place, and Lady Steel/Platinum Sports came in

Over 250 teams from across the United
States converges on North Texas on January 15-17 for the NTX USSSA
Winter Worlds. Teams from New York, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois,
Tennessee, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi,
Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado and across Texas participated in the
event. In Men's Open, SwingAway/ASPNation (D-FW) won 1st, while Steel
(Corpus Christi) came in 2nd. In Men's C, the local boys from Mansfield
Thunder/D-Bat (Mansfield) were Champions, and Nally's (Carthage, Mo.)
were Runnerups. In Men's D, TXR/Diamond Sports (Stephenville) took the
Gold medal, and Conference (Lubbock) captured the Silver. In Men's E,
Sadistik (Omaha, Neb.) won 1st, and M.E.M. (Nitchitoches, La.) finished
2nd. In Mixed, The B Team (Arlington) was the Champion and Palace 5
Softball (Ft. Worth) was Runnerup. In the Women's bracket, Bryant
Express (Bryant, Ark.) lost their very first game then cam all the way
back to win the title by beating Louisiana Lady Cartel (Bossier City,
La.) in the Championship game.

and Louisiana braved chilly temperatures and gusting winds to
participate in the 2016 South Texas USSSA Winteer World Tournament on
January 9-10 at Big League Dreams in League City, Wayne Gray Complex in
Baytown and Houston Sportsplex. The Men's Open championship featured a
pair of Conference USSSA team, with Allout/Mike/Worth/Izzy/PH (Houston)
out-lasting Miken/DiamondKingz/Miken (Olmito). In Men's C, Rosenberg
Bulls/Double Play Sports (Rosenberg) won 1st Place, while Austin Speed
(Austin) took 2nd. In Men's D, the Baseball Washouts (Houston) were
Champions, and Oilers/Allstate (Beaumont) were Runnerups. In Men's E,
the Laredo Freaks (Laredo) took the Gold, while 3Plaz (LaMarque) settled

(Beaumont( won 1st, while C.P.S. (Houston) took 2nd. In Men's E,
Lonestar Twins (Corpus Christi) took Gold, while the Houston Giants
(Houston) settled for Silver. In Mixed, S.T.F.U. (Spring) was the
Champion, and Tribe (League City) was the Runnerup. In the Women's
bracket, the Lady Hard Shots (Houston) won 1st Place, while Texas Ltd.
(Bryan) took 2nd. The next tournament will the the South Texas Cash Bash
on Dec. 26-27 at Big League Dreams in League City. The 2016 South Texas
USSSA Winter World Tournament will be January 9-10 also at BLD.

Nightmares (Houston) was Runnerup. In Men's E, Houston Giants took home
the Gold, while JBI Services (Stafford) earned Silver. In Mixed,
DiamondBakcs/Lolo Sports (Houston) captured First, and DGKoed came in
Second. And in the Women's bracket, lady Top Dog (Beaumont) was the
Champion, while Killer B's (Baytown) was Runnerup. The next big

Chill Sports Bar & Grill (Grapevine) was the Champion, while HVAC
Carrier (Ft. Worth) was Runnerup. In Men's D, Insidious (Coweta, Okla.)
won 1st Place, and Nalley's Crew (Stepehenville) took 2nd Place. In
Men's E, the Cen-Tex Toros (Temple) claimed the Gold, while Famously
Hated (Cameron, Okla) settled for the Silver. In the Mixed division,
Johnny Softball (Amarillo) was the surprise Champion by upsetting Co-ed
Connection (San Antonio) in the championship game. The next tournament
in North Texas will be the Turkey Trot Shootout on Nov. 21-22 at Big
League Dreams in Mansfield.

The Hooters Fall Fest Shootout was
held October 3 at Big League Dreams in League City. In the Men's C/D
division, STX Nightmares/ASP Nation (Houston) won First place, while D12
(Dickinson) took Second. In Men's E, the Houston Giants (Houston) were
the Champions, and JBI Services (Houston) were Runnerups. In the Women's
bracket, Houston Blaze (Houston) took home the Title, while the Killer
B's (Baytown) came in Second. The next big tournament in South Texas
will be the Fall Budfest on October 24-25 in Bryan-College Station.

The "Support Our Troops" Shootout was
held August 22 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield. There were 55 teams in
attendance and players generously donated lots of used equipment to be
sent to U.S. Military troops serving overseas. In the Men's C bracket,
TMT/A&A Utility/KV Weld/ASP Nation (Conroe) won 1st Place, while Jokers/ManCave/FTP
Nation (Ft. Worth) came in 2nd. In Men's D, Powerhouse (Waco) was the
Champion, and Meineke Car Care (Mansfield) was the Runnerup. In Men's E,
the Brewers (Oklahoma City) took the Gold medal back across the Red
River, while the Smash Papas (Abilene) took the Silver to West Texas. In
Mixed, Royalty (Cleburne) was the Champion, and Loaded/FTC (McKinney)
was the Runnerup. The next tournament in North Texas will be the
Southwestern Championship on Sept. 19-20 at Big League Dreams in
Mansfield.

The 2015 Lone Star Shootout Series
culminated with the Grand Championship "Battle For The Rings" on July
18-19 and July 25-26 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield, Texas. Over 200
of the very best teams from across Texas, plus a few from neighboring
states, gathered to battle it out for title of Shootout Champions. In
Men's C, Steel (Corpus Christi) won 1st, while STX Militia/GSG/PowerhouseSportz
(San Antonio) finished 2nd. In Men's D, 187/Nally's/AllTheWayLive
(Longview) was Champions, and Player Haters (Dallas) were Runnerups. In
Men's E, Smoking Guns (San Antonio) took the title, while STX Disaciples/Team
Tayden (Katy) settled for 2nd. In Mixed, Diamondbacks/LoloSports
(Houston) was Champion, and Co-ed Connection (San Antonio) was Runnerup.
In Women's C, Bryant Express (Bryant, Ark.) won the Rings for the second
year in a row, by defeating the KC Sker's (Kansas City, Mo) in the
Championship Game. In Women's D, Fully Loaded (Seagoville) was Champion
and South Texas Outlaws (Yaokum) were Runnerups. And in Men's 40 & Over,
GOSP/Frank's Country Store (Bryan) won 1st Place, and Old School Ballers/ManCave
(Dallas) finished 2nd. Congratulations to all the teams who qualified
for and participated in the most prestigious softball even in Texas.

were held July 4-5 at Time Warner Park in San Antonio. In Men's D, the
SA Rattlers (San Antonio) went 5-0 to win 1st place, while AH44/KD Logo
(San Antonio) finished 2nd. In Men's E, the HNS Toros (San Antonio) were
Champions, and Silver Bullets/KD Logo (San Antonio) were Runnerups. In
the Women's bracket, Do Work (San Antonio) took 1st, and the Unknowns
(San Antonio) came in 2nd. The Mixed division was played on Sunday and
Texas Made Sports/S&S (San Antonio) won the title by beating KMA-Coed
(San Antonio) in the championship game.

Finals were held over two weekends at Big League Dreams in League City.
On June 27-28 in Men's D, STX Nightmares/ASP Nation (Houston) won 1st
Place, while the ThunderCats (Houston) finished 2nd. In the Women's
division, Straight Shot/Mizuno (Spring) was the Champion, and Don't Hate
(Houston) was the Runnerup. In Mixed, 1st Place went to
Diamondbacks/Lolo Sports (Houston), while 2nd Place went to DGKoed
(Houston). On July 4 in Men's C, OuttaControl/NewEraSports (San Antonio)
was the Champion, and Goons/LDC/GSG Sportswear (Houston) was Runnerup.
In Men's E, Habit (Pasadena) won 1st Place, while BCS Smash (Navasota)

Two important Lone Star Shootout
tournaments was held last weekend. First, the Grand Opening of the turf
fields at STX Champion Park in Corpus Christi was a big success. In
Men's D, Mira's Sports & More (Corpus Christi) won 1st Place, while
Carolina Homes/Toros (McAllen) came in 2nd. In Men's E, Lonestar Twins
(San Antonio) was the Champion, and Texas Fury (San Antonio) was
Runnerup. In the Mixed bracket, Hott Mess Co-ed (Corpus Christi) too 1st
and South Texas Mayhem (Raymondville) finished 2nd. Also last weekend,
Texas Bank Sports Complex in San Angelo hosted the West Texas
Championships. Torque/Salazar Welding (Odessa) took the Championship,
and Texas Connextion (Sonora) was the Runnerup.

STX Militia (San Antonio) upset favorite Steel (Corpus Christi) in the
championship game of the Conference USSSA bracket at the Stockyards
Shootout, which was held June 6-7 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield.
Steel was one of two Conference USSSA teams entered in the event. In
Men's D, 187/AllTheWayLiveDesigns/D2E (Longview) won 1st Place, while TX
Regulators/Diamond Sports (Stepehenville) came in 2nd. In Men's E,
Monstars/ABI/Kohler/Landers (Bryant, Ark.) was the Champion, and Goin'
Deep (Cedar Hill) was Runnerup. In Mixed, Co-ed Connection (San Antonio)
took the title game over Meineke Car Care Co-ed (Mansfield). In the
Women's bracket, Bomb Squad (Little Rock, Ark.) captured 1st Place,
while Whiskey Bent (Bartlesville, Okla.) came in 2nd. The next

took Second Place. In Men's D, TI Sports (Houston) was the Champion,
while Rosenberg Bulls/Double Play Sports (Rosenberg) was the Runnerup.
In Men's E, Sour Apple Repair (Houston) won the Gold, and South Texas
Disciples/Team Tayden (Katy) took the Silver. And in the Women's
bracket, Lady Top Dog (Port Arthur) pulled the upset by knocking off
Straight Shot/Texas Sports/Mizuno (Spring) in the Championship game. The

Missouri) took home 2nd Place. In Men's E, the Silver Bullets

The 30th Annual Budweiser Softball Festival was held May 1-3 in
Bryan-College Station. In Men's C, Old School/DiamondKingz (Spring) made
it back-to-back years as Champions, while OlmitoHeat/DiamondKingz/Miken
(Olmito) was the Runnerup. In the 74-team Men's D bracket, Rosenberg
Bulls/Double Play Sports (Rosenberg) won 1st Place, and 187/AllTheWayLiveDesigns/D2E
(Longview) captured 2nd Place. In the 70-team Men's E division, local
favorite BCS Smash/Fallout Sports (Navasota) took the title by defeating
STX Buzz (Lasara) from the Rio Grande Valley in the championship. In the
Mixed bracket, Co-ed Connection (San Antonio) was the Champion, while 90
Prrof (center was the Runnerup. In the Women's division, Straight
Shot/Texas Sports/Miken (Spring) won 1st Place, and Lady Top Dog (Port

The Hooters Shootout II held on March 21-22 at Big League Dreams in League City was dampened by steady rainfall in the Houston area on Saturday that eventually caused a four-hour delay. But games resumed Saturday evening and the tournament concluded on Sunday with a beautiful, sunny day. In the Men's Open N.I.T., OuttaControl (San Antonio) made the long trip and got the best of all the Houston teams to win 1st Place, with the Goons (Houston) taking 2nd Place. In Men's D, TI Sports (Houston) won the championship game by a 10-9 score over Sandbaggers/Mush (Center Line, Michigan). In Men's E, South Texas Disciples (Katy) won 1st Place, while Houston Giants (Houston) came in 2nd. In the Mixed bracket, TWFG/All-NIghters (Houston) were the Champions, and S.T.F.U. In Men's D, Dirty Birds (Tulsa, Okla.) were Champions, and Throwback Sports Bar (Amarillo) was Runnerup. In Men's E, KC Mercenaries (Kansas City, Mo.) captured First, while 187/AllTheWayLive (Bossier City, La.) finished Second. In Men's B, Club Chill (Grapevine) won a set of rings for the third year in a row, after winning in Men's C in 2012 and 2013. Bear Hollow Ranch (Mountain, Mo.) was the runnerup in Men's B this year. In Men's C, TKO/FalloutSports (Claremore, Okla.) brought the rings north of the Red River, while ManCave DFW (Grapevine) finished second. In Men's D, Carrier (Fort Worth) capped an outstanding year by winning first place, and Dirty Habits (Edinburg) made the long trip from the Rio Grande Valley to take second. In Men's E, Texas Terror (Lake Jackson) was the lone champion from the Houston area, and Young Bucks (San Antonio) placed second. Oklahoma softball teams made a big impression at the Stockyards Shootout, which was held June 7-8 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield. Teams from the Sooner State won 1st place in two divisions, got 2nd place in two other divisions, and even had a fifth place finisher in the Conference USSSA bracket who finished ahead of two actual Conference teams. In Conference, ASP/Reset/Easton (DFW) won 1st, while Nightmare/Louisville Sluuger (Branson, Mo) took 2nd. In Conference Consolation, Aftermath (Central, Ark.) was the champion, and NTX Elite (Heartland) was runnerup. In Men's D, Carrier (Ft. In Men's D, Team Worth It from Orange, which is near Beaumont, took the title, and HR/DGK/TMT/TI Sports came in second. The Bud Light Memorial Day Shootout was held May 24-25 at Time Warner Park in San Antonio. IN the Men's Open N.I.T. (C & D teams), first place went to Cage Bombs (Austin), while second place went to Olmito Heat/Diamond Kings (Olmito). In Men's E, JM Insurance/Miller (Converse) was the champion, and Young Bucks (San Antonio) were runnerups. The Dodging Bullet from Midlothian won First Place in Men's D at the Mansfield Mayfest Shootout, held May 17 at Big League Dreams. Booya!/Hutchins Plumbing from Denison was the runnerup in Men's D. In the Upper bracket, Riley's from Carthage, Missouri took the title, while JTF Alliance from Fort Sill, Oklahom came in second. In Men's E, Twisted/ASP Nation from Brownwood was the champion, and Who? from Lubbock was runnerup. The next big tournament in North Texas will be the Stockyards Shootout on June 7-8 at Big League Dreams. There will be a Conference USSSA Affiliate division, as well as separate brackets for Men's D, Men's E, Women and Mixed.

The 29th Annual Budweiser Softball Festival retained the title "King of Softball Tournaments" in Texas when over 250 teams converged on Bryan-College Station on May 2-4. Men's 35 & Over was played Friday night, and the champion was Rex Bumpus and Lampasas Softball (Lampasas) while runnerup was Rockies (College Station). In Men's C, Old School (Houston) won first place, while Steel/Suncoastsportz.com (Corpus Christi) came in second. In Men's D, OuttaControl/ParadiseLawn (San Antonio) was the champion, and Cage Bombs (Austin) were runnerups. In the 104-team Men's E, Crooks-Reloaded (Houston) took the title, while TI Sports (Houston) finished second. In Women's Upper, Sumuzu made the long trip from Tucson, Arizona and won first place, and Texas Pride Women from Ft. Worth finished second. In Women's Lower, B&T Express (Houston) was champion, while FM Reloaded (Hutto) was runnerup. In Mixed, Co-ed Connection (San Antonio) won first, and LST/Suncoastsportz.com (Corpus Christi) came in second. In the Home Run Derby on Friday night, Blaine Hashagen of Got 'Em won first place, and Larry Juarez of the Goons finished second.

The North Texas Budfest was held April 26-27 at Big League Dreams in Mansfield. H&H from DFW made a triumphant return to the Lone Star Shootout Series by winning first place in the Men's D division. Quack Attack (Tulsa, Okla.) was the runnerup in that bracket. Jokers/FTP (Ft. Worth) was the champion in the Men's B/C bracket, while Northside Steel (Jonesboro, Ark.) finished second. In Men's E, Texas Strokers (Temple) was the champion, and Oklahoma 45's (Tulsa, Okla.) was runnerup. In Women's, Traders Reloaded (Southaven, Miss.) made the long trip from "The Sipp" to win first place, while Bomb Squad (Little Rock, Ark.) came in second. In the Mixed division, Co-ed Connection (San Antonio) took the title, while Akin 2 Live (Mustang, Okla.) finished second. The next big event in North Texas will be the Mansfield Mayfest Shootout on May 17-18 at Big League Dreams.

Four players from Texas helped Line Drive Sportz/R&M Metals/Easton from MIchigan win first place at the 8th Annual Space City Classic Conference USSSA Major N.I.T. played April 11-13 at Big League Dreams in League City. Runnerup went to Team Albicocco/The Scene/Easton from New York. Third place went to Slattery/BWW/Buzini/Miken from Mississippi. Fourth place went to Nightmare/Louisville Slugger from Missouri. There were also 3 Consolation brackets played on Sunday. In Men's C, HGC/Hemphill (Hattiesburg, Miss.) took 1st and Call Your Shot (Round Rock) took 2nd. In Men's D, HR/DGK/TMT (Conroe) was champion and YouWho (Lafayette, La.) was runnerup. In Men's E, Chop City (Houston) won 1st, while Smoking Guns (San Antonio) finished 2nd.

In Men's E, Crooks-Reloaded (Houston) won the Gold Medal, while Texas Terror (Lake Jackson) settled for the Silver. On a Saturday that had more rain than North Texas had seen in 3 months and a Sunday that had winds gusting to over 40 mph, the 100 teams who entered the Brett Helmer Easton All-Star Classic at Big League Dreams in Mansfield overcame the elements and completed the tournament. In Men's B/C, Ballistic (DFW) won 1st place, and Steel/Suncoastsportz.com (Corpus Christi) came in 2nd. In Men's D, Cage Bombs (Austin) made the trip up I-35 and took home the title, while Quack Attack (Tulsa, OK) took the silver medal back across the Red River. In Men's E, Flatline (Houston) was the champion, and WTX New Era (Abilene) was runnerup. In Mixed, The B Team (Arlington) took 1st, while Palace 5ive/WTX Conslutants (Seguin) finished 2nd. Nearly 150 teams from 10 states converged on Big League Dreams in Mansfield, Texas on Jan. 18-19 for the North Texas USSSA Winter Worlds. In Men's B/C, The B Team (Arlington) won 1st place, while Club Chill Sports Bar & Grill (Grapevine) came in 2nd. In Men's D, it was a West Texas affair as Nine-1-Five/ASPNation (El Paso) made the long trip over and took home Gold, and Rumors/VTees (Odessa) won the Silver. The trophy stand was a sweep for West Texas, as Conference (Lubbock) took the Bronze. In Men's E, CCTX-Clebration Church (Round Rock) was champion, and Burn (Brownwood) was runnerup. In Mixed, Legendz Sports (Tulsa, Ok.) won 1st place, while Probst/Palace 5ive (Ft. Worth) came in 2nd.
