 Lone Star Softball
Now Affiliated with USA Softball

Lone Star Softball, Inc. is proud to announce its renewed affiliation with USA/ASA Softball ofTexas.

This is a reunion of sorts as Greg Huchingson and Roy Dean started Lone Star Softball back in the year 2000 with ASA Softball. Lone Star stayed with USA through the year 2007, when they made the switch to another association. Now, 14 years later, Lone Star has now returned to ASA Softball, which is under the umbrella of USA Softball.

“We are proud to be back with USA Softball of Texas which is an affiliate of USA Softball, the National Governing Body of softball,” said owner Greg Huchingson. “We are one of 68 local associations in the United States. USA Softball of Texas is the area of Texas not located in the geographic area of Dallas, Ft. Worth, San Antonio, and Houston. These are called Metro areas and each has its own organization that is responsible for the USA Softball operation in that metro area.

”Lone Star Softball will continue to operate its popular Lone Star Shootout Series in cities and towns across Texas, including the Metro areas plus the viable softball markets like Tyler, Temple, San Marcos, Harlingen, Midland, Lufkin, McAllen, San Angelo, El Paso and plenty of others.

Lone Star Softball has been widely acclaimed on both State and National levels for its marquee events, such as Winter Worlds, Battle For The Rings and of course the popular Budweiser Softball Festival. None of these events will lose any of their sizzle and pop, as the same Directors and UICs who have hosted these events in the past will return this year.

USA Softball of Texas is divided into Districts and each district has a District Commissioner that has total responsibility for the district assigned to them. Each of these District Commissioners may in turn appoint other district personnel such as Deputy District Commissioners, District Youth Commissioners, District Umpire-in-Chiefs, etc, to assist them in administering the USA Softball of Texas programs.

USA Softball of Texas is comprised of a State Commissioner, Deputy State Commissioner, State Youth Commissioner, State Umpire-in-Chief, and At-Large Player Representatives. The majority of these people make up the USA Softball of Texas Executive Committee. Voting members of USA Softball of Texas consists of District Commissioners, Deputy District Commissioners, and District Youth Commissioners.
